Baseball turf protectors are a style of tarp used to protect the grass directly in front of home plate during batting practice. Both natural and artificial turf is highly prone to damage in this area, so baseball field tarps are an essential part of keeping your field game ready. This style of infield turf protector has a trapezoid shape that covers from the 1st base line to the 3rd base line.

The images above display four standard sizes of batting practice turf protectors plus we also accept custom orders. These standard sizes are designed for use with a 30' home plate. Regardless of the size selected the tarp will start 14'9" up the foul line which is 10.5' straight out from the back tip of home plate. Our most popular size is the 53' which is commonly selected for use at a sports complex or a professional team's practice field. High school and college teams that practice on the same field where games are played should consider upgrading to the 59' or 65' size. Professional teams and training camps should select the 71’ size for their stadium.

The only thing more American than baseball is this tarp. The premium spruce green 10-ounce mesh fabric is made in Ohio and features a 35% open design that can be left in place for hours without disrupting turf growth. Around the perimeter of the tarp is a 2-ply hem that is double sewn using rot resistant polyester thread made in Pennsylvania. Every 3’-4’ around this hem #2 brass grommets from Georgia are machine punched for durability. These great materials are assembled at our Cullman, Alabama facility by real Americans.

Turf protectors are typically secured using ground spikes or stakes which look like an oversized nail. For quicker setup select the weighted option which features two-pound chain pocket sewn about every 6' around the hem. Either way the corners include hand pull loops used to quickly stretch the tarp into position.
