The dirt around a baseball field is a mix of clay and sand that is damaged by heavy rain. Installing baseball field tarps in specific locations will minimize the work required to get your field game ready after a storm. It also helps to keep grass at bay along the fields dirt, as it prevents UV rays from reaching through to the soil underneath. The most common baseball field pitcher's mound size is 18’ but we can build any size.

Material and Hardware

Traditionally pitchers mound covers are secured using ground spikes. However, our Loaded Pitcher's Mound Cover includes evenly spaced pouches of chains, making securing the tarp with spikes or sandbags commonly unnecessary. In the event extreme weather is expected or the field will not be used for an extended period, ground spikes can be installed to fully secure the tarp through the included grommets. Our preferred fabric for baseball pitcher's mound tarps is 18-ounce vinyl coated polyester. This fabric features excellent UV resistance and durability. It is assembled using heat seal seams that are 100% waterproof. The outer perimeter is folded to create a 2-ply thickness known as the hem. This hem is sewn with a double lock stitch using our rot resistant 207 polyester bonded thread. Brass #4 rolled rim locking spur grommets are centered in between each of the loads.
