Description

Fitting and Placement

The The Round Baseball Infield Mound cover is designed to be placed on either home or second bases. It features a 13ft radius from the center of the base plates. This type of tarp fits a 6ft base line with a centered foul line.

Keeps Dirt Dry and Grass From Growing

The dirt around a baseball field is a mix of clay and sand that is damaged by heavy rain. Installing baseball field tarps in specific locations will minimize the work required to get your field game ready after a storm. It also helps to keep grass at bay along the fields dirt, as it prevents UV rays from reaching through to the soil underneath.

Material and Hardware

Our preferred fabric for baseball infield spot covers is 18-ounce vinyl coated polyester. This fabric is assembled using heat seal seams which are 100% waterproof. The outer perimeter is folded to create a 2-ply thickness known as the hem. This hem is sewn with a double lock stitch using our rot resistant 277 polyester bonded thread. Brass #2 rolled rim locking spur grommets are machine punched about every 36 inches around the hem. Baseball infield spot cover tarps are typically secured using ground spikes or stakes. As an alternative to spikes, we offer 20lb and 40lb sandbags. You can also check out our spot covers that include a chain weighted hem, if stakes and sandbags aren't what you're looking for.

18oz Waterproof Vinyl Fabric Construction

18 ounce vinyl coated polyester is the fabric truck drivers use to cover loads of steel or lumber being hauled on a flatbed. This material has excellent UV resistance and has proven itself for decades in the transportation industry.

Truck drivers travel at interstate speeds in harsh climates covering abrasive cargo and despite these conditions get several years of usage. 18oz vinyl is our most commonly used and sold material we build our tarps with.

Though 18oz is used for big portion of our tarps, there's similar materials we offer with different weights and strength, such as 14oz and 22oz.

Where is it made?

Every single tarp we sell is Made in the USA. Cullman, Alabama to be exact. Zero imported tarps sold. Period!

Our team is sweating but this is not a sweat shop. That’s hard work mixed with Alabama humidity on Real Americans who sacrifice the best 40 hours of their week to support their family and this great country.

Your decision to Buy American provides us the privilege of rewarding these workday warriors with competitive wages, health insurance, and paid time off.

Our standards for materials, workmanship, quality control, and employ wellbeing will never allow us to be the low price leader but the overall value is responsible for a century of repeat business.

Lookout Mountain Tarp opened in 1923, was incorporated in 1927, and is a fifth generation family owned local business.

When will it ship?

Unless it's one of our stock tarps that we keep in stock, we'll usually have the tarp built and ready to ship within 5 business days. Fulfillment within one week is always our goal. Please note we are closed Saturday and Sunday, as well as most typical holidays.

How do you ship?

Most of our tarps are rolled up and placed inside a standard box using UPS Ground. UPS Ground takes 1-5 business days depending on how close you are to Cullman, Alabama.

UPS offers Saturday delivery in some markets but for the most part Saturday and Sunday are not counted in that calculation. For orders of 10+ tarps please contact us before ordering so we can get a quote for LTL delivery which will likely be more cost effective.
