Description
Coil tarps are used to cover loads of rolled steel or aluminum coils that will be hauled on a flatbed truck and trailer. The 17' x 17' size will cover a coil up to 5' tall x 6' across. Coil tarps are loaded with 56 D-rings plus 32 grommets for a total of 88 attachment points making them extremely versatile.
Two rows of D-Rings are installed on both sides as well as both ends of the tarp. These 1.5" dee rings are spaced at 30" apart and are inserted under a row of heavy duty polypro webbing. Each ring is triple stitched using our black 277 polyester thread. The outer perimeter of the tarp is folded over creating a two-ply thickness known as the hem. Brass rolled rimmed #2 grommets are machine punched about every 30" around this hem.
We offer this tarp constructed out of either 14 oz or 18 oz vinyl coated polyester fabric. Both are made by the same manufacturer and share the same 1000Dx1300D construction. Both have the same tear strength, but the 18 oz has a thicker vinyl coating which provides additional abrasion resistance. This size tarp weighs 36 lbs. in the 14oz or 45 lbs. in the 18oz. The 18 oz fabric has proven to be the best choice for this type of tarp.

18oz Waterproof Vinyl Fabric Construction
18 ounce vinyl coated polyester is the fabric truck drivers use to cover loads of steel or lumber being hauled on a flatbed. This material has excellent UV resistance and has proven itself for decades in the transportation industry.
Truck drivers travel at interstate speeds in harsh climates covering abrasive cargo and despite these conditions get several years of usage. 18oz vinyl is our most commonly used and sold material we build our tarps with.
Though 18oz is used for big portion of our tarps, there's similar materials we offer with different weights and strength, such as 14oz and 22oz.
14oz Waterproof Vinyl Fabric Construction
14 ounce vinyl coated polyester is the fabric is lighter weight while still offering sturdy waterproof protection. This material has excellent UV resistance.
14oz vinyl is an occasionally common used and sold material we build our tarps with.
Though 14oz is used for a decent portion of our tarps, there's similar materials we offer with different weights and strength, such as 18oz and 22oz.

Every single tarp we sell is Made in the USA. Cullman, Alabama to be exact. Zero imported tarps sold. Period!

When will it ship?
Unless it's one of our stock tarps that we keep in stock, we'll usually have the tarp built and ready to ship within 5 business days. Fulfillment within one week is always our goal. Please note we are closed Saturday and Sunday, as well as most typical holidays.
How do you ship?
Most of our tarps are rolled up and placed inside a standard box using UPS Ground. UPS Ground takes 1-5 business days depending on how close you are to Cullman, Alabama.
UPS offers Saturday delivery in some markets but for the most part Saturday and Sunday are not counted in that calculation. For orders of 10+ tarps please contact us before ordering so we can get a quote for LTL delivery which will likely be more cost effective.
