Description
Extend the life of your truck tarp with our repair kits. Do-it-yourself flatbed tarp repair kits provide you with everything you need to easily patch and seal minor holes, rips, and wear marks that inevitably come with using your tarps consistently. We know that you don't always need the entire kit in order to repair your tarp, so with our kits, we offer the ability to add what you need and ONLY what you need! The most basic version available is a single patch of fabric. From there, you can decide if you need any repair glue or a roller to complete the job. Vinyl cement provides a super strong, waterproof, flexible bond and is highly resistant to weather extremes including high temperatures. Our 14 ounce vinyl coated polyester fabric measures 61.5" x 36" and is available in black, blue, green, grey, and red.
How to use a tarp repair kit
1. Use rubbing alcohol to clean the area to be patched thoroughly.
2. Cut the patch in the desired shape, approximately 1” to 2” larger than the tear or hole on each side. Typically rounded shapes work best.
3. Apply vinyl cement to the topside of the tarp and the underside of the patch.
4. Wait 2 to 5 minutes to allow the surfaces to become tacky, then place the patch on the tarp. Press evenly and firmly with either your hand or a roller device.
5. Tarp can be moved after 5 minutes. Wait around 8 hours before use.
Remember that acting at the first sign of wear and tear can help prevent the damage from spreading, which could result in a more costly fix or full replacement. Use these kits with any of our tarps, including lumber, steel, roll/dump truck, smoke/nose, three-piece, coil, machinery styles, and any of our custom tarps.
